Please help us care for homeless animals
According to the shelter,
more than 60 dogs and over 100 cats currently call the community’s only animal shelter home. With recent
cuts in government funding and a mandated increase in the state’s minimum wage adding to staffing
costs, the NNHS hopes people will step up and become part of a special mission in their community. The NNHS
shelter is unique among others since it is operated by a not-for-profit and funded through community
animal control agreements, donations, grants, fundraisers and humane society memberships, rather than
a specific county or city tax.
Individual membership is only $20 each year, and families can join for just $60. Qualifying donations
are tax deductible, and all membership dues support shelter operations, veterinary expenses, food and staff
wages and help with the humane society’s mission to provide sanctuary for animals that have no home.
