Please invite your employees - or ask your employer for permission
- to bring the family pooch to work for the day in exchange for a $10 tax-deductible donation to the NNHS. All funds will
directly support our shelter animals.
If you have concerns about dogs in the workplace, studies show that pets boost employee morale,
productivity and sales. We hope you'll take advantage of this exciting day to raise awareness of our community's abandoned
animals, highlight the importance of the human-animal bond, educate the public on responsible pet ownership, allow your employees
to share their pets with co-workers and - above all - have a lot of fun!
If you are an employer, please register your business or organization
today. There is no cost to register. You'll also find free downloads for tips on preparing your business for the big day,
flyers to share with staff, how to create pet-free areas, information about collecting donations and answers to questions
you may have. By registering your business, you can also let us know if you'd like us to notify local media of your participation.
If your business is closed on June 25, please consider hosting the event on another day. Or, if your business cannot
have dogs on the premises, ask employees to bring photos of their pets and host a photo contest. Post the photos, along with
money jars or envelopes, and ask your customers to be judges. The NNHS and shelter animals would love your support.

of pets in the workplace and encourages pet adoptions from shelters, humane societies and rescue groups.
How
does this day encourage adoptions?
We hope people without dogs will see the loving bond their co-workers have with their pets and will consider
adopting a shelter animal for their own. Funds raised from this event will be used to care for the shelter’s animals
and provide a boost to our adoption programs.
When is this year’s event?
Bring Your Dog To Work Day is Friday, June
25.
What does it cost?
Registration is free, and we ask each
employee to donate $10 for the opportunity to bring his or her dog to work. All support materials will be provided online for free.
Why should an employer
want to be a part of this day?
Studies show that pets in the workplace boost employee morale, productivity and even sales. Bring Your Dog
To Work Day is a great public relations opportunity and lots of fun! Participation in Bring Your Dog To Work Day
helps save the lives of homeless shelter animals in our community. Also, by registering your business and providing

What if my company policy won’t allow me to bring my dog to work or I have a
rambunctious dog?
You
can still celebrate! Bring in a photo of your cat or dog and host a photo contest. Post the photos, along with money jars
or envelopes, and ask your customers or co-workers to serve as judges.
What if my employer has concerns about
lost productivity due to dogs in the workplace?
A 2006 survey indicated that one in five companies allow pets in the workplace. According
to the survey, millions of employees felt that pets in the workplace led to a more creative environment, decreased absenteeism,
improved productivity and helped co-workers get along better.
What if my company can participate on
another day but not on Friday, June 25?
You can still celebrate the great companions dogs—and other pets—make, by holding your
company’s observance on another day. Just let us know when you plan to host it, so we can help you publicize it.
What
form of payment will you accept?
Cash
or checks made payable to the NNHS.
How will my company deliver the
entry fee money?
Please ask employees to fill out the Employee Registration form when they donate the $10 entry fee. At that time,
they can request a charitable giving receipt and opt out of receiving future mailings. If employees do not want to provide
their names, that’s fine. Just let us know how many participated, so we can keep track of the program’s success.
After the event, please mail the registration forms and entry fees to the NNHS at P.O. Box 185, Maryville, MO 64468 or drop
off at the shelter at 829 S. Depot St., Maryville, MO during operating hours.
